Development Squad
This squad is for swimmers who have progressed out of a “Learn to Swim” school and normally under 12 years of age. Swimmers will be taught the fundamental techniques for all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly), along with key skills to enable them to begin competition. The main goal for this squad will be working towards competing at Club Nights and local meets such as Wanaka Interclub Meet.

The Development Squad is open to swimmers who are new to competitive swimming or transitioning from swim lessons. It's an ideal starting point for young swimmers who are eager to learn and improve their skills in a supportive environment.

The Development squad provides a supportive and encouraging environment where swimmers can learn and grow at their own pace. Coaches focus on laying a strong foundation for future success including developing skills and techniques, building confidence, giving independence, and instilling a love for the sport of swimming.
