Erika Ikeda
With a remarkable background in competitive swimming coupled with Bachelor of Sports Science and Master and PhD in Health Science, Erika brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Her diverse skill set and passion for the sport make her a valuable asset to our Club.
Her coaching philosophy is athlete-centred coaching. She aims to make children and young people feel empowered through swimming, and take responsibility, accountability and ownership of their performance and results. Building good relationships with her swimmers and understanding their personalities and behaviours are her top priorities. She also aims to improve their physical, mental and social health and wellbeing through swimming.
Under Erika's leadership, Wanaka Swim Club is poised for an exciting journey ahead. With her strategic vision and unwavering commitment to excellence, she ensures that every member of the Club receives the support and guidance they need to thrive in and out of the pool.
